I loved this piece. It reminded me of a discussion we had in my English class in high school where the teacher asked, "Do you think a writer writes for themself or the audience?" It was a discussion I never forgot because as a class we couldn't answer the question but it got us thinking so much about the purpose and intention behind words. Thanks so much for "writing that."
Thank you for sharing your super power of writing and communication. Your words and spirit have impact and influence those who are blessed to engage with it. This was a beautiful, memorable, strong piece of art! ❣️🙏🏼
I love the story of the waitress who understands her mother and can now be a much better mother for her children. That story speaks to something entirely different yet the same that happened in my life.
This gave me goosebumps and really made me think. Thank you, Ijeoma. I'm so glad you wrote anyway, even though you were scared. The part about the poem on the napkin...wow. That is art. Here's to the writing of your heart.
A good editor can be an annoyance (sometimes even when their input leads to improvement) and/or a writer's greatest ally. This piece seems to me an internalization of the best of both. I so appreciate what you write, and when you write with this kind of freedom and release, all the more so. Thank you.
Ah! I felt that. And I felt the honesty of this piece. I wonder, does our best writing happen when we let go and pour our hearts out without worrying whether or not anyone else needs to read it?
I loved this piece...thank you, whatever you do, know that you gift is a certain kind of magic for those of us lucky enough to get a chance to read it.
This is FABULOUS. "Well, write that."

I appreciated every word of this and relate in my own way. Thank you very much for writing it.
Beautifully crafted, and straight from the heart. Looks like a good first step toward getting back on the path.

Thank you for writing and sharing THIS. 💗
Thank you so much for putting my feelings into words- especially nailing if you “do what you love it isn’t work.” It IS work.
This spoke to my soul in a way I cam going to be chewing on for a long time. Thank you.

In my experience, the "well, write that" piece is deceptively difficult to pull off. This one is so good. Thanks for risking it.

I appreciate this a thousand times over. Thank you.
