I'm surrounded by writers who are academics or academic-adjacent. The idea that *I* might have something to say that was worth anything in comparison to them has been a struggle to overcome. But, in January I'll be 50 and I'm still at it. I've dipped in and out of writing full-time since 2017, but always for other people. Now, finally, finally, I'm writing for me.
