I just want to gear up and celebrate every year. I want to be reminded who to uplift, spend money with, laugh with… to commit to the truth and tell my children. I want to commit to joy in a world that won’t let us have it.
It’s really interesting to see what anti-CRT communities are doing in schools this month. Perhaps continuing to sanitize the history and breaking it up into peaceful bites so their children will go on thinking that equity exists and they don’t have to feel responsible or even believe they contribute to oppression. 🤷🏾♀️
And we will have to keep battling against that, but for now, let’s celebrate us.
