I lived in Anchorage for 30 years. I am now the Founder of The Diversity Center of Seattle. You are my teacher and a big reason why I am here not there. It’s racist! And well sexist , homophobic, xenophobic…etc!! But as a young entrepreneur who drove up in 1980 it was alluring. Like your Son. Hard place to work though. When I had my own market research company I chose to help Native Corps. There are good people everywhere but the beauty of Alaska is unique. As a sociologist, it was at the time, the last thriving celebrated indigenous culture to witness. I have learned much from these first peoples; I bring it into our DEI work in WA. Jean
