We are now in our final week in Paris and we’re not even in Paris anymore. A friend of ours messaged that he was staying in his childhood home in Nice and invited us down for a visit and we took him up on it. Yes, I know that we were trying to really see what an extended time in Paris would be like, but we decided to take this little side-trip because:
a) We love the water
b) I bought a really cute swimsuit due to Instagram ads
c) The mattress of our (otherwise very lovely) AirBnB is on the floor and we are in our 40’s and my back really has had enough of these shenanigans
So this morning we packed a little bag and boarded a train to Nice where we will get some time in the water, and some sleep in a real grownup bed.
But bed issues aside, these last three weeks have been great! We’ve been staying in the 10th Arrondissement and we’ve really fallen in love with the neighborhood. It’s city but still quiet, diverse, and beautiful. We’ll definitely be back.
This hasn’t been trip packed with activities. We really wanted to try to learn what it would be like out here as a couple in their forties everyday. We went to a few museums, went on a lot of walks, and ate a lot of bread. It’s been the definition of pleasant.
So what have I learned these last few weeks? Here are a few things:
