WHOA DANG THAT'S A LOT. I'm appreciating TF out of getting any kind of update given all that's going on. Big, big healing vibes aimed in your direction.
On another note, nitrous is *outstanding* for some, including me (who likely has way more history w/fun-drug stuff than you do). First time I had it was for surgical extraction of an impacted wisdom tooth. They hooked me up, and I realized almost instantly why they call it laughing gas. I could NOT stop laughing because with this lumberjack of a dentist, all elbows, wrists, and power tools, was neck deep in my oral cavity and the phrase "oral sex" just kept looping through my (admittedly weird AF) brain. The job got done. Took percocet for a few days. But post-surg dental pain is worse, for me, than post-op joint replacement pain. It's all bad, pain, tho. Ice and/or heat packs help, too. Mostly ice packs. Gentle hug, my dear.
Omg your reaction to narcotics is enough for me do everything I can to not use them after my top surgery later this year. I’m SUPER sensitive to any kind of drugs and am sure I would likely have a similar reaction. They prescribe those things like it’s no big deal but, it’s a very big deal! Thanks for the cautionary tale.
I send you so much love! I had a similar experience with pain killers after surgery to break apart and remove my wisdom teeth, and the only thing that worked in the end was Benadryl - a nurse friend recommended it, and the reaction stopped right away.
Please rest, hydrate, sleep. We’ll be here when you’re feeling better. 💜
Oh, love, I am sorry. Ahh, poverty mouth. The gift that won't stop giving. I know one thing we have in common is the gratitude that our own kids most likely won't have to deal with the same issues. Not just because we had more resources for them than were available to us, but also because low income dentistry is a lot better than when I was a kid. That one thing alone has helped me through dental trauma and all my many procedures. Also, WHY DO THEY LET FOLKS DRIVE WITH THAT GOING ON? I'm willing to concede that not everyone is as reactive to nitrous and massive amounts of Novocain as me, but there has to be something wiggly going on, right? I"m glad I can get it now, but always have a ride out of there. I hope that your restful time is truly that way, that everyone is healing from all the not-covid nonsense and that your pup is inspired to cooperate for the greater good. xo
Holy moly that is a lot. Good to read things are better. Hoping your son and partner are feeling better too.
Drugs are a crazy thing. I’m always fascinated with how some people take them for pleasure or self-medication and rarely talk about scary reactions and then people like me and apparently you too have reactions that cause us to say “never again.” The human body is such a wonder.
At least it’s spring weather while you are on your puppy training adventure.
Well, I will second and third what other people have said: Much love to you and yours!! Sounds like you all went through the wringer last week. You totally got this.

Hope that you and the family fully recover.
I feel you on the reaction to pain meds. Absolutely can't take them without spending the following 24 hours throwing up.

Opiates are a miserable experience for me too. I'd almost always just prefer the pain! I'm glad you're recovering.

Much love to you and your whole family. In my prayers.
Enjoy the sun! Horizontal rain will be back, unfortunately!
I love hearing from you no matter WHAT state you’re in. And SO sorry to hear about the scary drug reaction. That really, really sucks. Sending hugs.
You made so much sense, the most sense. Loved chatting with you…xoxoxoxo
